Health Professionals Grants

For health professional working with children with liver disease

Debbie Hartt Memorial Scholarship

We really wanted to have a special way of remembering our dear friend Debbie. Debbie joined the Liver Unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital in 1989. In 2002 she joined the Specialist Nurse Team. She became an integral part of the team and brought so much knowledge and experience to the post.

Debbie was a keen supporter of allied health professional education through her involvement with the International Small Bowel Symposium Allied Health Professional study days. We felt that the setting up of an annual scholarship for allied health professionals involved with caring for children with liver and/or small bowel disease including transplantation would be a fitting tribute to her memory.

The aim of the scholarship is to help support funding for allied health professionals with an
interest in liver/ small bowel disease and transplantation for:

• Further education
• Research
